We are hiring a Programs & Social Media Coordinator.
Programs & Social Media Coordinator
As the Programs & Social Media Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating events & programs from concept, budgeting, designing, advertising, staffing, and executing. You will work closely with the Rabbi, staff and lay leaders, as well as engage volunteers to ensure the success of these programs.
This role has a dual reporting structure to both the Rabbi and a designated board member.
We are looking for a self-starter, who demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills. Organizational skills and the ability to collaborate with others will be key in the role.
Your Job:
- Identify, develop and execute innovative programs for groups of all ages and stages. Provide guidance to, and collaborate with the Rabbi, Board, staff and lay leadership as needed.
- Responsibility for holiday related programming, including major holidays such as Passover, Shavuot, Sukkot and Simchat Torah, Chanukah, Purim, as well as the High Holidays.
- Publicize the activities of the synagogue, and its programs. This requires a proactive approach to promote Beth Tikvah to the community, media and public through various advertising avenues including online & print (website, newsletters, social media etc.).
- Promote active and broad participation by volunteers in all areas of the organization’s programs. Identify creative volunteer engagement opportunities.
- Serve as a resource and support person for board members (particularly those focused on program development) and committees.
- Evaluate the efficiency of synagogue programs and make recommendations and implement changes/improvements where possible.
- Ensure that the Board is kept fully informed as to ongoing programs.
- Establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with community groups, and partner organizations.
About You:
- Proven experience with event/program coordination and/or communications
- Knowledge of the Jewish holidays, with experience working in a Jewish organizational environment preferred
- Experience and ease with managing social media
- Ability to engage, work with and support volunteers
- A self-starter that is action oriented and works well within a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of Hebrew is an asset
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Canva and Constant Contact (or similar) required
- Experience and/or knowledge of ShulCloud synagogue CRM is a benefit
- Ability to work in an open office environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
Schedule: 30 hours per week
Pay: $20-24/hr
Must be available to work daytime hours. Availability in the evenings & weekends for programming and meetings will be required.
Work Location: 9711 Geal Road, Richmond, BC, Canada V7E 1R4
Travel Requirements: Travel may be required for off-site program, member or community meetings.
